name // Fayt Leingod
series // Star Ocean 3
age // seventeen (17)
race // half-vampire
ability // "Destructive Alteration" // alter an inanimate object's "reality" and cause it to move/levitate/explode. this can only be triggered directly after feeding on human blood, during a moment where his emotions are running high.
personality // Fayt is an extremely lazy child-at-heart, wanting only to do things that are fun, rather than the things that are necessary. He doesn't want to be anyone's "hero", unless it's in a video game. He's not very responsible, and can be a bit clumsy. Also, he never really knows the right words to say to cheer someone up, and often makes it worse, because he's not careful. He can also be a bit goofy, this particular trait stemming from the fact that his hobby is playing games all the time. When he is serious, however, it tends to be really serious. As he is just a teenager, he isn't above the lack of self-worth that comes around every now and then. In fact, he probably gets hit with it a bit harder than he really should, for such a care-free boy. It isn't hard to frustrate Fayt, as he tends to be stubborn and strong-willed. Unfortunately, when he becomes confused or irritated, he begins to lose his ability to reason. He'll either freeze up, or he'll become hostile. Neither are really all that good for him.

description // He is extremely thin, almost scrawny in comparison to some of his friends. His tops are usually tight and his pants are usually baggy, and his mop of blue hair is usually always falling into his green eyes. He sometimes wears glasses, but usually only when he's reading or writing. Physically, his body isn't all that tough. But his small stature allows him to be a bit quicker on his feet than most. Though he isn't exactly the craftiest child in the world, he can at least buy himself enough time to get out of a bad situation.

background // Fayt was born to a Robert and Ryoko Leingod. His father, Dr. Leingod, was a researcher in vampire genetics, a career move that would cost him his life. His marriage to the blue-haired vampire, Ryoko, had been frowned upon by his colleagues in college. Having a half-breed son was even more upsetting. Despite all of that, however, Robert loved his family, and was never ashamed of them. He expanded his original field in genetics to cover vampires, and what it could possibly mean for his wife and child, should there be a chance that they could become human.

Sadly, just as Dr. Leingod finally got close to even just touching the truth, he and his wife were taken out by assassins. All of his notes and research went up in flames, along with their bodies and home.

Fayt, only 9 at the time, had been hiding when his parents were murdered. Because of his small size, he was able to squeeze himself down the emergency hatch and hide out under the house as the tiny building burned. While it was still extremely dangerous, he knew it was safer to risk possibly getting crushed by a burning support beam rather than facing the inevitable death that awaited him if he had tried to run outside. And thankfully, his gamble proved to work in his favor. The smoke from the fire went upwards, thus preventing him from suffocating.

The flames died down in the early morning, and by then, Fayt had cried himself into an emotional mess. For once, his powers as a half-vamp were activated solely on his feelings, as opposed to blood content, and he was able to free himself using his 'destructive alteration' ability. He could never escape his cowardice, however, and it shames him even now, despite his attempts to squash it.

Since then, Fayt had been living at the orphanage, though not without any troubles, mind you. As a scrawny half-vampire nerd, Fayt had a hard time making friends, especially because he'd rather spend his time reading or playing video games rather than playing outside with the other kids. Thankfully, he had very few vampire characteristics, save for his unusually bright eyes.

Now 17, Fayt's biggest concern is schooling. Should he step into the genetics field and try to continue his father's research, and possibly uncover what his father almost discovered? Or should he live a silent life, so as to avoid the negative attention that his father had recieved?
